James M. "Lep" Donnelly, II

James M. "Lep" Donnelly, II 61, of Elizabeth Twp, died suddenly on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at home. He was born August 6, 1951 in McKeesport and was the son of Eileen Lewis Donnelly of McKeesport and the late James M. Donnelly, Sr. In addition to his mother he is survived by his beloved wife, Cynthia L. Hebda Donnelly, sister, Judy Donnelly of Linthicum, MD, mother-in-law, Ethel Hebda of North Versailles, sister-in-law, Kathi and her husband Jim Lipesky of East McKeesport, nieces, Thea, Kate and Jamie, nephews, Michael and Patrick, great-nieces and great-nephews, Katelyn, Caitlin, Joey, Sean and Emaleigh, his cats, Ethel and Ted and his dog, Patrick. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Ted F. Hebda. After graduating McKeesport High School in 1969, he attained his Master Plumbers License. Lep retired from US Steel Irvin Works on May 31, 2013 after 40 years of service as a Pipe Fitter. He was a member of the Owls Club and enjoyed guns and motorcycles. He played Santa Claus for US Steel, Steelworkers Union 2227, the Owls Club, Clairton and East McKeesport and had a special heart for children. He and Cindy were planning vacations, going to the gym, home remodeling and spending time with his family. Friends are welcome Monday July 1 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday July 2 at 10:00 AM, at St. Michael Roman Catholic church with The Rev. Thomas Wagner, officiating.
