Philomena Rose " Fannie" Waszczak, 95, of Greenock, died Saturday, May 18, 2013 at home. She was born September 2, 1917 in Palena, Italy, daughter of the late Eugene and Ida (Chiaverini) Ciavarra. She was the wife of the late Charles B. Waszczak who died April 7, 2007. They were married for 63 years. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Christy Park and the Women's Bowling league there. She was also a member of the Palanese League of America. She is survived by her daughters, Dr. Carolyn Adams of Elizabeth Twp, and Ida (Jim) Mosellen of Allison Park, son, Retired Major USAF Charles (Gloria) Waszczak of Enon, OH, grandchildren, Stacy Adams Sauriol, Kelly Adams Yeager, Julie Waszczak Grubbs, Christina Waszczak Douglass, Katie Waszczak, Matthew and Erin Mosellen, and Amber, Brittany and Danielle Workman, great grandchildren, Kaylyn, Frank, Max, Finnian, Charlotte, Zachary, Evelyn, and Philippa, and many loving and devoted nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Dora Jean Waszczak, and brothers, Frank and John Ciavarra. Friends are welcome Tuesday, May 21 from 1-4 and 6-9 PM at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Patrick Church on Wednesday May 22 at 10:00 am with the Reverend Vincent P. Velas, officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery, North Versailles.
