William Fischer Scheetz, Jr.

William Fischer Scheetz, Jr., 88, of Lincoln, died Thursday, May 9, 2013. He was born July 31, 1924 in McKeesport, son of the late William Fischer Scheetz, Sr. and the late Elizabeth Kurth Scheetz. He was husband of the late Alberta V. Evans Scheetz. Bill was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church, Liberty Boro , Port Vue American Legion, McKeesport Sportsman's Association, Liberty Senior Citizens and Port Vue Senior Citizens. He was a former Scoutmaster of Troop 53, Liberty Borough. He was a Sergeant and 20 year veteran of the Lincoln Borough Police Dept, and was retired from the former G.C. Murphy Co. Warehouse where he worked for more than 40 years. He was a US Army Medical Corps Veteran of WWII. He is survived by sons, William A."Bill" and his wife Nancy Morgan Scheetz of Lincoln, Barry J. and his wife Linda Schweikert Scheetz of Galina, OH, and Keith M. and his wife Judy Ukasic Scheetz of Liberty, daughter, Annette M. and her husband, Allan Koman of McKees Rocks, brothers, John T. Scheetz of McKeesport and Thomas and his wife Dorothy Scheetz of North Huntingdon, 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Friends are welcome Sunday May 19 from 6-8 PM and Monday, May 20 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM, at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Mark Catholic Church, Liberty Boro on Monday May 20 at 1:00 PM, with The Rev. Daniel T. Straughn, officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at the Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 1-800-805-5856.
