Catherine V. Alvarez

Catherine V. Alvarez, 84, of Versailles, died Sunday, May 5, 2013. She was born January 18, 1929 in McKeesport, daughter of the late John W. and Elizabeth Radar Bales. She was wife of the late Edward Alvarez. Catherine was a member of the Boston United Methodist Church and had worked for the former US Steel Duquesne Works and the Boston Super Dollar. She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Eversole of Versailles, son, Edward F. and his wife Pat Alvarez of Burlington, VT, sisters, Jane Bales of Versailles and Caroline and her husband Blair Twale of Greenock, brothers, John and his wife Dolores Bales of Irwin and Charles and his wife Gayle Bales of Versailles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Alvarez and brother Glenn Bales. There is no visitation. Services are private. Arrangements are by the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township.
