Vaughn Delaine Meyer, 61, of McKeesport, died Tuesday, April 23, 2013. He was born April 24, 1951 in Portsmouth, VA, son of the late Emil and Harriett Arlene Tillit Meyer. Vaughn was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, McKeesport, The Order of The Purple Heart, Disabled American Veterans, the American Legion and AA. Vaughn served in the US Army in Vietnam and received the Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He is survived by his wife, Nancy E. Breakall Meyer, daughter, Emily and her husband Brian Pidgeon and grandson, Noah Pidgeon of Salem, OH, sisters, Michelle Meyer of Freeport, OH, Lori and her husband Tom Stanley of OH, and Renee and her husband, James Overholt of Massillon, OH, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Vern Meyer and sister Victoria Meyer. Friends are welcome Friday April 26 from 6-8 PM and Saturday April 27 from 9-11 AM at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 329 Ninth Avenue, McKeesport. Memorial service will be held there on Saturday at 11:00 AM, with The Rev. Warren Smith, officiating. Private inurnment with Military Honors will follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville.
