Josephine M. Betters

Josephine M. Betters, 92, of Greenock, died Saturday, March 30, 2013 at home. She was born February 5, 1921 in San Marco de Cavoti, Italy, the daughter of the late Michael and Barbara Cetola Costanzo. She was the wife of the late Dominic J. Betters who died July 5, 1986. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Christy Park and was proprietor of the former D.J. Betters Wrecking Co. Josephine enjoyed bowling, gambling and shopping. She is survived by daughters, Jane and her husband Wendell DePoppe of Imperial, and Barbara and her husband, John Knezovich of McKeesport, sons, Michael and his wife Deborah Betters of Lincoln Boro, and Dominic Betters of West Newton, 13 Grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, David Betters, sister, Lucy DiGregory, and brothers, Charles, Theodore and James Costanzo. Friends are welcome Tuesday, April 2 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Patrick Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 3, at 10:00 AM with The Rev. Vincent P. Velas, officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery, North Versailles.
