Richard G. "Dick" Dainty Sr., 82, of Elizabeth Township, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. He was born April 26, 1930, in Industry, the son of the late Thomas and Josephine Manning Dainty. He retired from the Municipal Authority of McKeesport and was a member of the Shaner Gun Club, White Oak American Legion Post 701 and Shellsburg VFW Post 433. Dick served in the Navy and Air Force during the Korean War. He received the Korean, China, United Nations and National Defense Service Medals. He is survived by his wife, Sandra L. Betz Dainty; sons, Richard G. (Lois) Dainty Jr. and Emerson L. "Moose" (Kathleen) Dainty, of Elizabeth Township; daughters, Beverly (George) Ritchey, of Bakers Summit, and Dalynn Dainty, of Somerset; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lynda Dainty; brother, Thomas Dainty; and sisters, Rachel and Martha Dainty. Friends are welcome from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 6028 Smithfield St., Boston, Elizabeth Township. Private interment with military honors will be at the Penn-Lincoln Memorial Park Inc., North Huntingdon.
