Minnie E. Berquist

Minnie E. Berquist, 89, of Greenock, died Thursday, December 6, 2012 in Kane Regional Center, McKeesport. She was born September 2, 1923 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Anna Hornfeck Rhodes. She was the wife of the late George A. Berquist who died January 11, 1987. She was a member of St. Patrick Church, Christy Park. She is survived by her son, George A. Berquist of Mount Vernon, daughters, Mary Valentine of Rostraver, Ruth Garcia of Irwin, and Kathleen (Barry) Piper of Elizabeth Twp., grandchildren, Tara (Bryan) Kite whom she raised, Brad (Donna) Garcia, Angela Garcia, and Melissa Piper, great-grandchildren, Alex and Zachary Garcia, and Kristine, Bryana, Gabrielle and Levi Kite. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Betty Jane Berquist, brothers, Frank, Leroy, Leonard, and Bill Rhodes, and sisters, Marie Moore and Anna Mae Rhodes. Friends are welcome Monday December 10, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Patrick Church on Tuesday December 11 at 10:00 am, with The Rev. Vincent P. Velas, officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt.
